  • Inspecting old Knob and Tube Wires for Safety
  • Rewires and Circuit Identification  (It is easy to forget that the wiring that carries power throughout your home will need replacing at some point.  Rewiring is an essential safety precaution, as outdated wiring can cause fires and electrical shocks.)
Some indications that you may need Rewiring include:
  • Your home or business was built 50+ years ago  (Older wiring can’t handle the electrical load of the typical modern home, which often includes multiple TVs, computers, phones, hairdryers, etc., causing the wires to heat up. Since the wires are probably deteriorating and/or aren’t properly insulated, the heat can cause the insulation and surrounding materials to catch on fire.)
  • Circuit Breaker trips frequently
  • Persistent burnt smell  (You may have an Electrical Short.  Turn off the circuit and call an Electrician immediately.)
  • Discolored or charred Outlets and/or Switches
  • Aluminum Wiring  (“AL” can be found written on the wiring jacket.  Approx. 2 million homes were wired this way between 1965 and 1973.  Failing aluminum wire connections can cause overheating that may start a fire.)
  • Switches in your Bathroom
  • Sockets on Skirting Boards
  • Green Residue on Wiring
  • Cotton-Covered Wiring
  • Black Rubber Cables
  • Round Pin Sockets

Let’s get your electrical needs accomplished and off of your mind!  I’ll work closely with you to make sure that your concerns are met with complete satisfaction.
